I always loved Doodlebug Design's swimming pool color, and after seeing a room photo in a Crate and Barrel catalog with swimming pool colored walls and a white desk, I decided that was the color calling my name. We painted the walls but left the desk furniture in it's original color. While I loved the white desk in the inspiration photo, I didn't want to open that can of worms! ;-) Josh convinced me that some silver industrial kitchen shelving would serve my needs, and I didn't agree with him until we got it in the room and it worked. Now I love it! :)
To make my CREATE wall statement, I bought the chipboard letters at Hobby Lobby and painted them several coats of white paint. I love how they pop against the blue! :) And my three doggies have their own spot too, to hang out with me while I scrapbook!!
Josh was right, these shelves hold A LOT of stuff! The black notebooks lined up are my chronological scrapbooks from 2004-present. The rest of my albums are either on display or on a bookshelf. It looks like I'm going to have to find another way to store these though, as I need the room for more products, LOL!One of my favorite elements of my scrapbook room are my embellishment vases. I got them at Dollar Tree, what a great bargain! I just love all the rainbow happiness! It's fun to see each color and they are always in reach when I need them.
This shelf holds the rest of the rainbow, if you will. It also holds some larger embellishments, my small Xyron, a few go-to wood stamps, a bowl of Petaloo's Color Me Crazy flowers, punches, Doodlebug flock, glitter and chunky glitter assortments, and inside the cute Container Store box ... more punches.
This shelf holds my ink pads, clear stamps, Cuttlebug embossing folders and dies, Spellbinders dies, larger Xyron, and displays a couple of albums.
I love the cute and colorful bins and baskets I found at Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby. This cute little candy store-type jar holds my smaller punches. The bottom shelf holds 12x12 boxes that I store my card-making supplies in. The 12x12 vertical storage holds my full size paper (non-Doodlebug) that hasn't been cut. Paper is sorted by color, holiday, theme, and by manufacturer (I like to keep KI Memories, Bella Blvd and Echo Park together in the last container). A couple more of the Container Store boxes hold clear and wood stamps, and some stamping accessories (stamp-a-ma-jig, etc).
I just LOVE this rolling cart that I got on sale at Staples. I scrapbook almost exclusively in 8.5x11, so it works perfect for me. The bottom rack holds all my 8.5x11 paper and scraps, separated by color, theme and holiday.
The white 12x12 hanging folders on the top are ALL DOODLEBUG! LOVE this ... I have every color of Doodlebug cardstock, separated in their families. I have sections for themes and holidays, new collections, alpha stickers, border stickers, etc. This is one of my favorite things in my whole room! :)My other favorite thing in my room ... my Silhouette. It's the original Silhouette, and I don't know why I waited so long to get it in the first place! It's been a go-to tool for me for the last several years. I would love to get one of the new 12" cut Cameo's, but I can't justify the purchase price, when this little baby has been awesome and still gets the job done! :)
This is the top of my desk, where I have two "art pieces" I created from blank canvas. I painted them with the wall paint, and then Mod Podged pictures, die cuts, trim, etc. You can also see my very first word book (which I've become VERY fond of).
This is one of my Happy Things ... a black glittery Eiffel Tower. Anyone that knows me, knows how much I adore all things Eiffel Tower-y, LOL.
I picked up these swimming pool-colored vases at Hobby Lobby. I thought about storing supplies in them, but haven't yet. I think they're pretty cool.
The corner of my L-shaped desk, with smaller, matching silver shelving. This holds some display items, recent magazines and books, all my embossing powders, pens, even a sneaky spot to slide my trimmer underneath.
The other side of my desk, more display and cutesy wall stuff, and my Cuttlebug.
Cute and "princess-y" and more importantly, on sale at Hobby Lobby ...
Made this from a wire wreath form and a black boa. Loads cheaper than the ones you see in decorator magazines!
Another cute sale find at Hobby Lobby ...
Originally this room had a ceiling fan with one dim center light. Josh changed out the fixture for me (another bargain) and I love the bright, white light now!! :)
Thanks for going on the tour of my creative space. Hope you enjoyed it as much as love it! :)
