photo Friday

It's Photo Friday!  :)

Today I wanted to share one of the important things we did last weekend.  I was busy baking lots of dog treats (6 different kinds!) for our friends, family and especially for the adoptable dogs with Red Dirt Boxer Rescue.  I have also been gathering fleece blankets, treats and toys over the last few months for them.  Last Saturday, we took Junior to see Teresa, the head of RDBR and his foster mom, at one of their Santa Paws fundraisers.  We will always be so thankful to her!

Because I'd get things here and there and stash them away, I didn't realize how much I was able to give until I pulled everything out to sort!  I was really happy!
I found a huge gift sack at Hobby Lobby with this extra large, matching tin.  I thought it was perfect to hold all the dog treats! :)  It was the perfect size, too, that the bones from my Sunbeam Dog Treat maker fit standing upright! :)

I also made them a card, which I'll share on a post next week, and enclosed a Walmart giftcard so they could buy food, cleaning supplies, or whatever the rescue needs.  Here is my beautiful boy Junior with his gift!
Junior was such a spaz that I really couldn't get a very good picture of him with Teresa and Santa.  I was also disappointed in the way the photos came out - I hadn't used a flash but the lighting in the store wasn't great either.  I settled on making a collage using a vintage photo action, making it look like the old Santa pictures when I was really young.

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!!! :)

  3. Wow! That's a lot of stuff! I bet your gift(s) were really appreciated!
I think the pics look great! If you hadn't mentioned the bad lighting I would have thought you did it on purpose! That's the beauty of everyone trying to make their pics look vintage...every pic winds up looking good, LOL!
And although Junior didn't cooperate, I think the pics are adorable! Very playful and catch the spirit of the fun of the season!

  5. This is so sweet. What a wonderful thing to do. They look so pretty too. Great feel-good blog post today, especially on what turned out to be such an awful day in the news. This cheered me to read. :)
